BBC’s Top Gear voted best TV show of the decade

If there was ever a time Jeremy Clarkson could quote ’shove that up your pipe and smoke it’ this could be the calling card to bathe in his own self obsessed glory. BBC’s flagship car show has had its critics over the last few years, ‘how long will Top Gear last?’ ‘Its had its day!’ and ‘this will be its last series’ are all popular quotes you see, hear and read.

Many critics comment on the format of the latest series being too much about comedy and less about cars. Although Top gears viewer ratings have remained consistently high with it reaching up to 8 million in the UK! And who watched the Xmas special in Bolivia? Ok so it was heavily scripted but you have to admit it made great TV. A few days later ITV broadcasted the ‘TV program of the decade’, Top Gear won against fierce competition from The Office, Simpsons, Dr Who, X Factor and the Apprentice.

Last year Jeremy, Mr Hammond and May decided on a limousine challenge to take to the Brit Awards. I wonder what they will have in store next… I think it is safe to say Top Gear will still be hitting our prime time screens for the next few years to come.
